PokemonGo Extreme Fans

PokemonGo is better than ever!

Hi fans long time no blogged.  I’m here today to tell you how great Pokemon Go has become.  It’s finally hit it’s stride, the best it has ever been, bigger than Fortnite (ok maybe not but close).  There’s so many exciting things that have come out and more things to come.  Lets talk about them!

Research

Research is amazing!!!  First you get a Mew on the special research and it seems now we’ll get a Legendary each month!  From throwing Great throws, to winning raids, to catch Swablu’s the normal research is easy and fun.  And the best part is you can do them once a day and end up with multiple Legendary’s by the end of the month.  The special research is a touch harder and wont spoil it for those who have not completed or started the tasks, but MEW!EX Raids

Ex raids are great! Win a raid at a particular Gym location and you get a chance to specially invited to a EX raid.  These are still uncertain on the way you can guarantee an invite some claim to have never gotten one and others get them regularly.  Win and you get MewTwo!

Monthly Community Events

Every month Niantic announces a specific Pokemon they will showcase for a few hours during Pokemon Community Event Day!  For a 3 hour period you’ll literally see hundreds of the featured Pokemon.  May was Charmander and June we get Lavitars!!  Each one comes with the rare chance for Shiny versions!

Alolan Forms

Pokemon originally in the Kanto region will soon appear in their Alolan forms over the coming weeks.  Originally from Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon.

As a day one player and fan this is the best work from Niantic and it seems they’ve hit their stride.  We may also expect they have refined their niche and will likely incorporate these types of things in their upcoming Harry Potter Wizards United that a certain blogger may just have a similar site for when Niantic finally launches it.  Visit us here for that!

Gen 3 & Weather influences coming!

Trainers,

They’reeee heeeerrrrreeee!!  By end of this week we’ll start to see the Hoenn Region Generation 3 Pokemon released in game!  A blog update by our friends at Niantic indicates 50 new Pokemon being launched “Starting later this week.”  As well a previously unknown Weather interaction is being introduced in game.

Gen 3 launch:

Lets get into the details shall we?  Treecko, Torchic, and Mudkip are specifically called out in the blog post but we can expect to see all 50 Gen 3 Pokemon to be released in the next 24-48 hours, with more coming over the next few weeks.  No details on Gen 3 evolutions to current Pokemon but one would have to assume that’ll also be included.    Please feel free to share your Gen 3 catches on our twitter, facebook, and here on the site!Exciting stuff but what’s this about the Weather?

A previously unknown new weather influence is being added as well.  If it’s raining outside guess what?  It’ll be rainy on the game and your chance for water related Pokemon increase.  Sunny days will be fire type Pokemon.  To boot, their attacks types *ALSO* are influenced by weather!!  Pretty neat and interesting to see how this affects overall Gym battles and holdings.

PokemonGo – 135 Gen 3 Pokemon are coming!!

Generation 3 Pokemon are coming!!!  The Silph Road has found proof of upcoming Generation 3 Pokemon within the latest mining of the APK V0.71.0!  Recently Niantic rolled out V0.71.0 and found a wealth of goodies that bode well for Pokemon Trainers.   Silph Road researchers also found details on a new super incubator, bug fixes, shiny changes, exclusive raid updates, potential ditto changes, and more!

Gen 3 Pokemon – First, the good stuff, 135 new Gen 3 species were found!  Along with the names within the metadata of all 135 Pokemon, the corresponding candies were discovered.  Once sounds and additional moves are implemented within the code we’ll likely see the Gen 3 launch.  If we take Generation 2’s timeline into account we should generation 3 release in about a month!

Super Incubators! – Little is known but much has been speculated about a “super” incubator.  Obviously this *should* incubate eggs faster but no confirmation on it’s abilities nor whether this can be found or only be available by purchase.  Incubators as a whole appear to be reworked as well so will be interesting to see what that translates to in-game.

Shiny Changes – Code changes referring to shinies seem to be vague but could point to better identification of shiny Pokemon.

Exclusive Raids – Code changes appear to be readying the existing Raid system for exclusive Raids with potential Exclusive Raid emblems and decals.

Moveset search – Code changes imply the addition of a moveset search for your caught Pokemon!

This reflects some exciting upcoming changes to the game!  For full details surf over to link from TheSilphRoad here.

Mewtwo inbound by invitation only in exclusive raid battles

It’s official!  Mewtwo will be available as the next legendary to catch!  But wait there’s a catch to that catch; exclusive raids are the only way to catch the famous and anxiously awaited legendary.  Mewtwo has been the source to much speculation with the removal of the legendary’s data from the game only to have it added back right before the big Japanese PokemonGo event.  One reddit user has claimed to have caught two Mewtwo’s at the event (not surprising as the events boast a 100% catch rate).  But lets get back to this exclusive raid nonsense.

In a new wrinkle, Niantic announced that Mewtwo is only available in “exclusive” raids upon invitation!?!?!  WTH?!  Why change something that’s not broken and make it harder to catch?  Exclusive raids are raids that are automatically invited raids *once* you’ve defeated a boss and completed a prior raid.  Here’s direct from the source:

Exclusive Raid Battles are similar to existing Raid Battles, with a few notable differences. Exclusive raids will periodically appear at Gyms around the world; however, unlike existing raids, Trainers will be invited to join an Exclusive Raid Battle. To receive an invitation to participate in an Exclusive Raid Battle, Trainers must have successfully completed a raid recently, by defeating the Raid Boss, at the Gym where the Exclusive Raid Battle will be taking place. The invitations will include advance warning of when the Exclusive Raid will take place, giving them ample time to coordinate with other Trainers before taking on the powerful Raid Boss.

Let’s recap, Mewtwo is coming.  But you’ll only get it if you complete a prior raid beating a boss at a gym that an exclusive raid battle will take place.   Currently the official PokemonGoExtremeFans account is 0-umpteen on legendary’s, while personal accounts have favored much better.  Based on this and the usual catch rates it’s lining up to be a difficult catch.  This sounds like a disaster in this writer’s opinion.

Good luck and show off you’re Mewtwo catches if you’re lucky enough to get one on our Facebook and Twitter using hastag #mewtwo

Gen2 Pokemon Arrive February 17th, 2017!

All signs point to Gen 2 Pokemon being released in to the game tomorrow, Friday February 17th, 2017.  Beyond the blog early yesterday from Niantic referencing the launch of Gen 2 “this week” we have some very specific events that point to tomorrow being the big day.  Further evidence will show that tomorrow will be the day Trainers have waited months for, the launch of Gen 2 Pokemon!

First the update – Android users reported seeing updates to their PokemonGo apps yesterday and today iOS users received their updates.  This update brought us the refined capture window with the carousel layout, clothing tweaks, and minor text edits.  It also prepped Trainers for the server side changes required to actually roll the 80 new Gen2 Pokemon out to the game.

Second and largely the bigger evidence of tomorrow being the big day we have this press release by Sprint indicating a “Lure-a-thon” at all their Sprint and Boost Mobile locations.  It goes on to say they are inviting Trainers to celebrate the new features and 80 new Pokemon in Pokemon Go nationwide on Friday, February 17th!  It goes on to say that the company will have Lures up on all their locations nationwide to help attract Pokemon such as “Chikorita, Cyndaquil and Totodile” as well as obtain the new berries (Pinap and Nanab).  Definitely looks like this announcement is confirming what we all hoped and expected for tomorrow.

Tomorrow’s gonna be a great day for Pokemon Trainers all over the world!

Finally!!! 80 new Johto Pokemon, new Evolutions, and more this week!

Trainers got a major surprise this morning as Niantic announced a HUGE update launching this week with Pokemon Go.  Players have been anxiously waiting word of new Pokemon and updates to the game and it seems it’s finally here.  According to a new blog post this morning, Niantic will be releasing 80 new Johto Pokemon from the Johto region “this week”.  Pokemon from the Gold and Silver games are to be showcased in this release.

But wait there’s more:

  • New Evolutions – With new Pokemon come new evolutions so we can expect to evolve most of these 80 new Pokemon!  AND you’ll be able to evolve some original Kanto Pokemon into Johto Pokemon!  Expect new “evolution items” to show up at Pokestops too!
  • New Encounter Gameplay – Pokemon can act in “new ways” during encounters and “new item carousels” will be available for faster switching to balls or berries.
  • New Berries – Nanab and Pinab berries are being introduced to satisfy the “berry” hungry new and old Pokemon!  Nanab berries will slow Pokemon down to make them easier to catch and the Pinab berries will double the Pokemon candy on successful catch!!
  • New avatar and expanded wardrobes – Trainers will be able to update and refine both Avatars and their outfits!!
  • Hashtag #PokemonGo to report and share all your new experiences!!

PokemonGo Valentine’s Event February 8th – 15th

Well after the long anticipated wait for another PokemonGo event, Niantic announced the Valentine’s Day event this morning.  While expected to some degree it feels like a let down.  Recycled structure of previous events in that more candy is provided for catches, hatches, and transfers; as well as Buddy Pokemon additional candies and a spotlight is put on specific Pokemon.  We’ll see more Chansey, Clefables and “other pink Pokemon”.  Cleffa, Igglybuff, and Smootchum will be likely to be hatched from eggs as well (UGH!!).  Festivities start 11am PST February 8 to 11am PST on February 15th, 2017.  I think we can all agree we need to start seeing some Gen 2 soon this game is going to lose even more players.
